… joosted? Whatever the grammar is, I’m in there and downloading it now. If someone did hook me up with an invitation, thank you. All I know is I got an email welcoming me to joost and my user name and password. Good enough for me. I’ll play around with it and most likely post my reactions here.
p.s. I was not given any invitations. So I can’t get you on. If I am graced with any invitations any time soon, I’ll post a link to the ebay auction. 😉
When said eBay auction appears, I’ll be waiting in line 😉
Hi Keith,
Funny, as I read your post I was opening up a package the fine folks at Joost sent me for being on their beta..a size small glittery t-shirt I’ll give away that still has the old name “The Venice Project”. I had very high hopes for their IPTV until I started using it…so I’m interested on your take. Me? I can’t find a lot of programming I want to watch personally…and, as I told the Joost developers, I don’t find the UI terribly intuitive. I got the hang of it eventually, but it took me a few minutes. Maybe it’s better now… I know they made some updates so I’m hoping. The video quality wasn’t much better than youTube for me, so that has to change. I really do hope IPTV takes off in the US and gives cable tv some real competition to lower prices.
Michael.
I was dissapointed with the UI too. It seriously took me about 3 mins to find the off/close button. hahah I must have been having a blonde day. As for quality you will be limited to what ever is out there, re-encoding from a low quality source can kill the user impression. But if Adobe brings out HDTV codec 🙂 ………
Glad you got in, Keith (I sent one invite). It’s the least I could do as a thank you for your excellent Flash books 🙂
Be sure to search for “snakes” and check out that video. While some of the content currently available sucks quality-wise, the snakes video was shot in HD and it looks great in Joost too.
As a tester you can now invite people. Please invite me.
Thanks,
Jim
Jim, not true. they aren’t giving away invites to new users these days. I got none.
