Well, I had a fun time playing with Vista, Sure is purdy, but I decided to take back my 20 GB of disk space and get back to work. I can wait til they iron out the remaining bugs in it. I figure that if it’s not going to be released til next spring, there are probably still some significant issues with it. Enough to make me not want to fully switch over to it just yet.
I did manage to install Flash 8, FlashDevelop, Java and Ant on it. But then had a problem where my FlashDevelop project was not recognized, so the RunCommand plugin wouldn’t call Ant. Maybe it would have been an easy fix, but I just foresaw a million little annoying issues like this making my life hell.
So I’ll wait, and grab it when it’s publicly released.
Hasta … La Vista, Baby? 🙂
It is still a test.
I am using, and I like it. Yep, it’s buggy. Yep, it can make you unproductive.
Fact is, don’t load test software on a production machine unless you are prepared to deal with the issues. And don’t complain when it does have issues. That is what bug submissions are for, just like when you test Adobe products right? Publicly posting complaints about beta/rc software is just irritating.
I don’t mean to sound like a dick, I’m just tired of hearing everyone rag on Vista
TJ, as a “Release Client”, it should be top notch software with a few minor bugs here and there. From all the “ragging” I’ve heard, they should still be doing beta releases. Personally, I’d rather listen a lot of complaining so that Microsoft knows that Vista just isn’t ready yet.
