OS X Hidden Toys

I was just poking around the Applications/Utilities folder on my Mini, and saw something called Grapher. Holy cow, this is an awesome program. You can enter in all kinds of 2D and 3D formulas, and see their graphs. Of course I was playing with the 3D stuff. You can change the colors, rendering methods, manipulate them in real time, etc. Pretty damn neat stuff for math geeks.

    There was an easter egg with the same software on OS 8.5 (if I remember well). You had to type a stupid formula and then you got the apple logo on a 3D flag or something like this…

    If you think that app is great you should check out the story about how the original, Graphing Calculator, was written. Those guys were really dedicated programmers!
