Spinlight Menu

Here’s a little menu I did for Spinlight Studio quite a while back, maybe almost two years ago. It just went live this week. I still love the menu, but I think they need some text links to go along with it.
The Flash piece is down the bottom. You can drag and throw the balls around. When they get sucked into the hole on the left, the page navigates to the corresponding section, and the ball appears in the hole on the right.
You can also drag and slide the translucent window around. It will block off the hole so that the balls won’t be sucked in there. Also, try blocking just half of the hole and watch the ball go crazy trying to get in.

  1. That’s a really neat menu/toy. I agree that the site should have soem text links too. I was there to see the toy aspect of the menu, so navigation wasn’t an issue for me 🙂

Having the button come back from the other side is great. It reminds me of some of my kid’s toys, where the same pieces get cycled aroud again. Very cool.

It took us forever to finish our site. It’s just hard to find time to work on our own stuff it seems.

We’ll probably add text links or at least navigation hints in the coming weeks. We want to let people just experiment a bit at first. We are big proponents of play. We really wanted a site that required a playful attitude.

We’d be interested in more opinions though. Feel free to chime in.

Keith is a great programmer/developer. I go to his site quite a bit just to be amazed. He really brought our concept to life. And very quickly too. Thanks again Keith!

Thanks Matt. I’m really glad you put the menu up. I’ve been telling people about this cool menu I did for the longest time. Now I can show them!
