Just thought I’d share a project I did some work on.
The site is a mix of tweens and Actionscripted Kinematics. The interactive, walking portion is what I did. It’s all AS2 classes. A pretty fun project.

Very nice job!
Strongly reminds me of Odendaals work [the wobbly skeleton].
Any chance to view the IK classes?
Anyways, congratulations on a job well done.
Peter
Thanks. The classes are pretty messy. It was a tight deadline. I’ll be doing a session on IK at Media Elements though. Will you be there?
This came out great Keith!
However, you know where I stand on the “no-pants” issue. 🙂
PEACE

Using a naked man to sell men some shoes is somewhat bizarre. At least it was done well (kudos). Can we throw eggs at the marketing people even still?
BTW
The first time I loaded the page, the popup window appeared, I saw a petri dish of some sort and then nothing… just blank white. I then waited. I then put on my headphones, to make sure it was simply just audio or something. I then waited some more, thinking it was loading something. I then went and got some breakfast. When I got back, I then closed the popup, reopened the site, and then it worked fine.
I am on XP Pro; Firefox .9; FP 7,0,19
“Using a naked man to sell men some shoes is somewhat bizarre.” Me thinks you wouldn’t find it so bizzare if it were a nekkid woman. 🙂
I got the same problem as anon.
OS X.3.6, Firefox .9, F,0,19
i have no idea about the problem. i just made the interactive component. the rest of the site was done by others. if you only got that far, it’s failing before my piece even comes into play.
the page hung for me too, had to close and relauch to get it to run. Very nice work, but the designer of those shoes should be shot.
the designer of those shoes is phillipe starck (http://www.philippe-starck.com/), who used to make really beautiful interior and industrial design pieces but now just seems to stick his name & logo on any old crap.
That site is pretty vanilla considering what is being done by Adidas and Nike, especially if the budget and timelines are similar. Did Starck design the site too? It just seems entirely off the mark visually, kinda like the shoes themselves.
As for the IK stuff, while I give you mad props for even attempting to code it (I wouldnt) it just does not seem very “good”. As referenced before, wireframe’s skeleton example is off the charts compared to this (and pretty much every other flash IK example I have ever seen).

Well aren’t you just a little ray of sunshine?
Aw man, I’m not here to bring the party down, I was just trying to drop a little constructive criticism since you put it under the magnifying glass. I’ll go back into stealth mode now. Cheers.
It’s all been said really, but one more won’t hurt, kudos for the “31337” IK. :p
When you get over the fact it’s a naked man, you can make him do the windmill arm dance move thing, instant win!
Rich
He’s not naked. He’s wearing ugly shoes!
Nice work!
I’m thinking Starck should have used a naked portrait of himself for the “dancing dude”…then again, anyone who has ever seen him, would know that THAT would NOT sell anything…well, no shoes anyways.
Cool stuff – thanks for sharing!
Oh – if it matters – I had the same problem as Anon…no site untill I closed the popup and re-entered. Win2Kpro, IE, latest FP on a fast connection.
nice one keith, and nice one philippe, i’ll take a pair of boots with the green color.
Nice mate, nice.
Was a shame about the preloader failing miserably, but as you say that’s nothing to do with you.
Love the comment from Adam at Random Media in London, inspirational.
