I’ve been wanting to do this Flash extension for a while.
Here’s the deal: say you are doing some work on your library. You want to export a bunch of items, or un-export them, or change their names or linkage names or first frame export status or class name. You have to go to right-click on each item and select properties, make the change, save it, move on to the next item, etc. Even if you don’t want to change anything, say you just want to see which items are exported on first frame, or what classes they have. You still have to do it one my one.
This extension is a Window SWF, that opens as a panel. It lists all the items in your library and allows you to see change any of the above properties (where applicable) right in the list. You can also sort on any of the columns or delete any item instantly. No nagging “Are you sure?”.
It’s still in beta, so I can’t recommend using it on any highly sensitive files. But I’d like to hear any feedback or suggestions.
Get it here: http://www.bit-101.com/extensions/LibraryManager.zip
Unzip the file to the WindowSWF directory in your Flash MX 2004 configuration directory. (Mac users will have to create this directory if it doesn’t already exist.)
a real usefull extension!
what i am missing are the bitmap options, it would be great to edit quality-, smothing-, etc. settings in that way.
And rezisable columns would be usefull, the inputfield is a little to small for longer names.
anyways, congratulations.
GREAT EXTENSION
WOW thats sweet. Using it now!
Great!. I’m downloading it now
yeah, resizable columns would be good. it might evolve into a datagrid eventually. it would be nice to have additional properties on there, but i’d have to rethink the interface. it’s already a bit crowded.
If you use a Mac, put the swf into…
/Macromedia Flash MX 2004/First Run/WindowsSWF/
Man, that is seriously handy…thank you!!
Fantastico!
supa handy. sweet.
Great, very usefull
thanx for this nice tool !
Great idea … that was on the top of my wishes list for MX 2006 😉
>missing are the bitmap options
Really needed … what a pity to sort by type, slect one by one, change it hundred times …
I have been waiting for this tool. It will save my day.
thanks Keith.

So good. It helped me with my current huge project (though loading of all ~200 library items took some time, but it is very good at all).
I just have posted this good news about Library Manager on flash-ripper site (in russian), thank you!
