Just like all the other people who are Singularity. Is that an oxymoron?
Anyway, I can’t say I know a whole lot about it, but Aral asked me to speak back when he was first putting it together. Sounded like a cool idea, so I said sure. My only question is, at the end of the day do we all sit in our living rooms drinking beer while talking to each other in a chat room?
Hey Keith,
It’s wonderful to have you on board with the conference. It’s going to be far more than sitting in your living room drinking beer (if you want it to be, of course!) 🙂 We’re planning local hubs around the world where people will gather to not only watch but also interact and add local flavor to the event. And that’s without even considering the interactive elements that will be built into the conference application itself.
All this to say that Singularity is not about watching. It’s about meeting, learning, creating, getting inspired, and playing. That Singularity is going to be something new is a given. In the next eight months I’m going to be working every day, with help from some wonderful friends, to make sure that it is also very, very cool!
