BIT-101

My first version of this blog was put up in 2005. I think it was on the “Blogger” platform. And I think I moved to something else, then finally to Wordpress.

In 2017, I had over 1,200 posts and the database was getting creaky. Most of the content was Flash-based and I hadn’t touched Flash in years, so I started a new Wordpress site.

In late 2023, I was so fed up with Wordpress, I started this current version of the blog, as a static site, using Hugo.

Some time in 2024 or 2025 I took the 2017 blog and converted it into a Hugo site. That had about 140 posts in it. Not too bad.

I always intended to do the same to the 2003 blog. But as I said, it had over 1,200 posts. Sounded scary. But I sat down and got it done tonight. And it’s now live here:

Not much of the content is relevant anymore, and most of the links are broken. But I’ve had fun going through it again.

I also implemented search in all three versions of the blog, so it’s easy to find old content. That’s all.
