Well, I’ve gone and done it. I opened a shop to sell prints of some of my digital creations. And here it is:
Yes, I went with Etsy to begin with. It’s at least something I’m familiar with. I’ll be looking at other sites that are more specific to selling prints.
I have to say that creating the art was the easy part so far. Setting up the shop, all the financial linkages, figuring out pricing, shipping, return policies, descriptions, integration with the printer, etc. - that all was a lot of work. But now that all that is done, it should be pretty easily repeatable with future runs.
Speaking of future runs, I’ve got a new line I’m working on now that I’m very excited about. Here’s a taste…
These began with the same technique I used in the Symmetry Web series, but I let the points wander, rather than be completely random. This creates amazing organic forms. Each one also features a ring where the colors are inverted. I look forward to sharing more of these soon.
