Foundation ActionScript Animation: Making Things Move for AS3, that is.
Yes, I just this minute typed the last word of the last sentence of Chapter 19 and emailed it off. Whew.
There’s still plenty of tech reviewing and copy editing and final round proof checking to be done. And after all that, it ships off to China for printing, then back to the US for distribution. So don’t start checking the shelves until the early months of 2007. I’ll try to have an exact shipping date as soon as I can.
But anyway, the hard work is done. Actually, it wasn’t even that hard. It was really a lot of fun converting all that stuff over to AS3 classes and updating the text. I learned a lot in the process, and got a big dose of respect for AS3. Stuff rocks.

Congratulation mr. Peters, is there any chance to trade in my AS2 copy for the new one

Sweet.
Ooops – too late for Christmas.
Where’s the “beta book pdf” version?

The AS2 version sits atop my desk at all times–it’s a great resource.
One question though: Math is Math, for the most part. So other than the language/syntax re-write, the book is essentially the same formulas + concepts as the first version, right?
I’ll be picking up a copy either way I guess

Yes, it is essentially the same material. Some required just small changes, some parts were pretty much re-written. I had hoped to add some additional material, but with the change to AS3, the book already gained a bit of weight – everything is class-based, rather than simple timeline code.

Hey Keith,
I’m a heavy Flash and ActionScript user but don’t really care that much about animation. Can you give us a table of contents?

Same as the old one:
