"Dust" for iPhone

Tuesday 6 January 2009 - Filed under Objective C + iPhone

OK, this is still awaiting review, but should hopefully be out any day, so I’m going to start hyping it.

http://www.bit-101.com/dust/

My first full iPhone app. Open GL ES 10,000 particles at 60 fps and runs beautifully. $0.99. that’s $0.000099 per particle! What a deal! I’ll let you know when it’s ready for purchase.

It is now approved! But my contract is still pending, so still got more of a wait. I’ll let you know when it’s up.

How much do you want to earn with this app?

Daniel, I did it for fun, so if I make $10, I’ll be ahead of the game. Any more than that is just extended Christmas. :)

Looks pretty cool, just wondering how long it took Apple to approve your request for iphone developer program?

Man that is a really good little application. I wish I’d thought of it first. And had an iPhone developer program. And had Objective C knowledge. And and an iPhone…

Looks “soothing” indeed :) And I think you will make a whole lot more than $10.

Nice app and good luck with the review process, (took about 7 working days for us with Flash Tables http://touch.frogameleon.com/education/FlashTables/ (Let us know what you think here http://www.frogameleon.com/blog/flash-tables-for-iphone-or-ipod-touch-now-available-at-the-iphone-app-store) ).

openGL ES rocks esp. if coming from a Flash Background!

Great, now (if you’re anything like us) you can get ready to start trend watching :)

(I’ll buy yours if you buy ours ; )

Awesome work, hopefully I can get some time to mess with iPhone dev. I will be sure to pick this app up once its available, .99 cents is a fair price for enjoyment, I think.

That is a very nice effect…

Did you find that it was just simple particle math or was there a specific challenge caused by the interface?

LOL… turn it into a game for real value? … Anyway, so geeky, pretty sure it will sell.

KP – individual development-program applications (ie submitted by an individual person) are dead quick. Just a matter of hours.

For coorporations though it’s longer as they require detailed company information etc.

I’ll buy me an iPhone just in order to be able to buy this lovely thing.
