Spider Defense Take 2

Friday 15 June 2007 - Filed under Flash

Had a bit of time to do a bit more work on this. Mostly graphic tweaks and a bit of code clean up. Code needs a lot more cleaning up before I think about adding new features. I got excited during the first phase and just started cranking out code as fast as I could get it down. It’s ready for some major refactoring.

The graphics are 100% code. Nothing imported, loaded, embedded. All drawing API, bitmaps, and filters.

Yeah, all coded, mostly randomized, so it’s all different each time. Perlin bitmap sky, fractal terrain mountain, randomly rotated and blurred rectangles for the background.

Yes, AS3. And yeah, they are evolving away from their spiderness. May have to change the name. :)

You beat spore to the market if you add customization! :) Take away their legs, pretty funny.

thats pretty neat considering its all code =)
I was wondering, do you just plug in all the code in the actions panel, or do you go object oriented for that kind of project, i’m just curious

you are the man aha =)

yeah, I’m working in Flex Builder, all AS3 classes. Not using the Flash IDE at all for this one.
